Ann Richards | Illustrated Portrait for PBS Trailblazers Series

In the summer of 2020, PBS launched a slate of multi-platform content to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote in the United States.

I had the pleasure to create a portrait of Ann Richards, the 45th Governor of Texas, known for her sharp wit, one of a kind one-liners, and liberal political views. To this day, Richards remains the last Democrat to serve as Governor of the Lone Star State.
